He loved the way she always smelled of sweet lavender. Lavender petals were delicately placed over her vanilla-colored pillows. Whenever he saw lavenders, his thoughts automatically transferred to her. Her long chocolate-colored hair. The way his lips felt when they touched hers. Their tongues always ended up colliding with one another’s.
He remembers the first time that they kissed. Vividly. He was relaxing on his bed, silently brooding about whatever was bothering him on that particular evening. He was also avoiding Marissa. She was persistent in her attempts to reach him. Ryan just wanted to evade himself from the stress that she caused him.
Sighing, hoping that Marissa would eventually get the hint, Ryan decided that a shower would help to relieve his stress. He lifted his masculine arms and carelessly discarded his shirt onto the floor.
He walked into the bathroom and left the door slightly ajar. Quickly taking off the rest of his clothes, he rushed into the steaming hot shower. It felt good as the hot trinkets of water rippled down his defined abdomen.
Shortly after, he walked out of the bathroom with only a towel around his slender waist. He was stunned and rather intrigued to find Summer Roberts on his unmade bed.
“Lost?” Ryan smirked, trying to make conversation with the brunette.
“No.” Summer snorted, chuckling slightly.
Did Summer Roberts just snort? Ryan pondered inside his head.
“Did you need anything?” He really wanted to figure out why she would just show up in the middle of the night, unannounced.
“I’m sorry.” Summer said, standing up and heading towards the exit. “I don’t know what I was thinking.”
Ryan stepped in front of the door, conveniently blocking her way out.
“What’s the matter, Summer?” Ryan asked, genuinely concerned.
“Seth…” an embarrassed Summer said softly. “Seth and Taylor.”
Ryan sighed, not liking where this conversation was inevitably leading. “What happened?”
“I was driving by the beach and I saw Cohen’s car, so I stopped and tried to find him.” Summer whispered softly, wiping a tear away from her already tear-stained cheeks. “Well, I did find him…”
“I think I get the picture.” Ryan stopped her from revealing anything else.
“I’m sorry I came here, Ryan.” Summer began rushing towards the door. Once again, Ryan blocked the entrance, and pulled her into a tight hug.
Finally letting herself feel something, Summer continued to break down in front of him.
“Shhh, it’s okay.” Ryan gently cooed in her ear. He pushed her face up towards his and gently kissed her cheek. “It’ll be okay.”
Staring up at Ryan, Summer suddenly felt an odd sense of comfort. She enjoyed being in his strong arms. She felt safe and secure in his mere presence.
Ryan, pushing all reasonable and logical thoughts away from his head, pulled Summer’s soft lips to his. In those few, fleeting seconds, his problems just seemed to fade away. The only thing that occupied his thoughts was her. Her and her lavender kisses.
